We’re getting very close to Explorer camp, and we are fully booked, with around 130 Explorers attending.
We are still looking for leaders who would like to take part. The camp is from Sunday 23rd to Saturday 29th October, at HMS Bristol in Portsmouth and costs £15. You do not need any prior experience to attend and you do not need to be a leader with an Explorer section, you just need to be interested in having a fun and exciting week with Explorers from all over the country.
In particular we are looking for competent dinghy sailors to sail a range of vessels with inexperienced Explorers.

Due to resourcing issues, we are sorry to announce that we have had to cancel the leader training weekend that was scheduled for 29-30th October.
We have another leader training weekend booked for Spring 2017 and will be in touch with details in the new year.
Explorer Camp allocations will be sent to the group contact today. Once you receive your allocation, you will need to complete the confirmation form which will be sent to you by email.
Every year, each group that is Royal Navy recognised is required to complete a census as part of being affiliated with the scheme. The data that is required is collated and sent to the Royal Navy so that they can use the information during inspections and to form the basis of the grant gifted to us. Therefore, it is essential that you complete and return the survey by Friday 26th August so that all information is up to date and relevant.
As I am sure you are all aware this is an important part of the RN scheme process and those who fail to complete the census run the risk of jeopardising the success of their inspection and will see their grant applications declined. We would like you to complete the survey based on the Group/Unit’s activities from 31st January 2015 to 1st April 2016. When completing the survey all fields are required. If a field is not applicable to you please either use 0 or N/A as an entry depending on if it is a number or text field that is required.
You can access the survey here and must complete this process online. You are able to save your progress as you go by using the bar at the top of the survey screen.
